Drive Properties

Use this dialog box to view the properties of the drive and to change the name of a drive. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the specific drive.

Drive Name

The name of the drive.


A descriptive name for the drive. The system uses this identification to display the drive name in the CommCell Browser for the library.

Unique ID

An unique identifier assigned by the MediaAgent within the CommCell for the drive.


The name of the MediaAgent that controls the drive.


The name of the drive manufacturer.


The drive model. (e.g., DLT4000, DLT7000, etc.)


The software version used by the library to which the drive is attached.

Serial Number

The serial number of the drive.


The World Wide Name by which the drive is identified within a SAN.

SCSI Address

Identifies the drive's SCSI ID using the following: port, bus, target, and Logical Unit Number (LUN).

For NDMP drives, the NDMP drive access path is displayed.

Access Path

Part of the library's internal addressing scheme.

Drive ID

The information is applicable only for IP libraries using ACSLS server.

The physical number of the drive in the library.
