Find (Time Range) / (Browse Time Range)

Use this tab to specify the browse time range for the find operation. If you accessed this dialog as part of a Browse operation, keep in mind that the time range values are not pre-populated by any previously selected time range settings entered on the Browse Options or Advanced Browse Options dialog. All options described in this help may not be available; only options that are relevant to the operation that is being performed are displayed in the tab.

Specify Time Range

Specifies whether to extend the time range for the search to include data prior to the latest full backup beginning with the specified Start Time, for agents that support multi-index search. Agents that do not support multi-index search will not have a checkbox for this option and will search from the current index by default.

Absolute

Specifies that the search time range will be based on the calendar date and time specified in the Start Time and End Time, and enables those fields.

Time Zone

Specifies the Time Zone from which you are filtering the search results.

Start Time

Specifies the beginning of the search range. Data objects that were backed up or archived before this date and time will not be returned as search results. To change the start date and time, select one from the respective list.

End Time

Specifies the end of the search range. Data objects that were backed up or archived after this time will not be returned as search results. To change the end date and time, select one from the respective list.

Relative

Specifies that the search time range will be based on a time period that is relative to the present, as specified in the From last nn hr(s) nn min(s) and To last nn hr(s) nn min(s), and enables those fields.

From last nn hr(s) nn min(s)

Specifies the beginning of the relative search time range as the number of hours and minutes prior to the present. Messages archived before this time will not be returned as search results. To change the beginning time for the relative search, select the desired number of hours and minutes from the respective list.

To last nn hr(s) nn min(s)

Specifies the end of the relative search time range as the number of hours and minutes prior to the present. Messages archived after this time will not be returned as search results. To change the end time for the relative search, select the desired number of hours and minutes from the respective list.

Find Now

Starts the find operation.

Stop

Stops the find operation.

View Selections

Click to display all selected items from the search results.

Save To File

Click to save the search results to a file on the client computer.

Display Pane

Displays the results of the search. You can use this pane to recover or retrieve an object or range of objects by right-clicking the objects and then selecting the appropriate recover option. The information displayed for each object returned from the search varies by agent, as follows:

  • Exchange based agents:

    Mailbox, Folder, To, From, Subject, Received Time, Size, and (where applicable) Matched String.

  • File System iDataAgents, File Archiver Agents, ProxyHost iDataAgents, and NAS NDMP iDataAgents:

    Name, Path, Size, Type, Modified, and (where applicable) Matched String.

  • SharePoint Server iDataAgent:

    Name, Version, Author, Title, and Size.

  • Lotus Notes Document iDataAgent:

    Id, Type, Folder Name, Folder UNID, and Folder Flags.

  • Active Directory iDataAgent:

    Name, and Type.
