Additional Settings - Online Help
The following sections provide context-sensitive help information related to this feature.
Registry keys are referred as Additional Settings for this feature. Use this dialog box to set additional settings for the selected component. The selected component can be the CommServe, client computer groups, or client computers (including MediaAgent clients).
Any additional setting that is added for this component will be displayed in this dialog box.
Displays the name of the additional setting.
Displays the relative location of the additional setting in the instance (from the registry key tree).
Displays the additional setting value type. For example, the value can be an integer or a string.
Displays the value of the additional setting. Depending on the type, could be numerical, a character string or a boolean value.
Displays whether the additional setting is currently enabled or not.
Use this space to enter comments about the additional setting. User comments can include notes about the usage, characteristics, and so on.
Click to add a new additional setting.
Select an additional setting and click Edit to modify it.
Select an additional setting and click Delete to remove it.
Use this dialog box to find the additional setting you want to add for the selected component. Scroll down through the list or use the Find box to locate the additional setting.
Use this dialog box to add a new additional setting or edit an existing one for the selected component.
Click to open the additional setting (registry key) dictionary to search for the setting you are planning to add.
Type the name of the additional setting.
Type the relative location of the additional setting in the instance or select an existing location from the list.
The following value types are available for Windows and Unix clients:
Assigns a string value to the additional setting. "True" and "False" are the available values for this type.
Assigns a numeric value type to the additional setting. This value is limited to 32 bits in length.
Assigns a string value type to the additional setting. "YES" or "NO" are common string values, as are phrases or complete sentences.
Type the value of the additional setting. If you selected the additional setting from the Lookup window, select a valid value from the drop-down list.
Select this option to enable or disable the additional setting.
Type a brief description of the purpose and usage of the additional setting. If you selected the additional setting from the Lookup window, this information is already provided.
