Configuring the Index Cache

Depending on the type of index cache used for the old MediaAgent, configure the index cache on the new MediaAgent.

Local Index Cache

No additional steps are required for a local index cache.

Putting an Index Cache anywhere but a local drive is deprecated, with these impacts:

  • Existing defined network shares continue to function.
  • You can view details of the network shares that were created before creation of new shares was deprecated.
  • You cannot create new index caches on network shares, nor modify existing network-based index cache shares except to move them to a local drive.
  • The deprecation of Shared Index Cache does not affect GridStor functionality.

To set up or modify index caching, see Index Cache - Configuration.
