Configuring Proxy Settings on the Client Computer Group

Create one or more client computer groups with the clients and MediaAgents that require uninterrupted access to CommCell services during a disaster. For instructions on how to create the client computer group, see Create a Client Computer Group. Add proxy settings on these client computer groups.

Alternatively, you can add the proxy settings on an existing client computer group with or without firewall configuration in place.


To configure the SnapProtect proxy settings on a client computer group,

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the client_computer_group_name and select Properties.
  2. On the Firewall Configuration tab, select the Configure Firewall Settings check box, and click Advanced.

    A warning message is displayed.

  3. On the Incoming Connections tab, click Add.
  4. From the From list, select the SnapProtect_proxy_name.
  5. From the State list, select Blocked, and click OK.

    Similarly, add the CommServe_client_name and set the State to Blocked.

  6. On the Outgoing Routes tab, click Add.
  7. From the Remote Group/Client list, select the CommServe_client_name, and click OK.

    Note: The Direct route type and HTTP tunnel connection are selected by default.

  8. On the Outgoing Routes tab, click Add.
  9. From the Remote Group/Client list, select the CommServe_client_name.
  10. Click Via Proxy.
  11. Under Proxy Settings group, from the Remote Proxy list, select the SnapProtect_proxy_name .
  12. On the Options tab, select Roaming Client, and click OK.
  13. Click OK to close the Client Group Properties dialog box.
