Configuring Proxy Settings on the CommServe Client Computer

To enable the CommServe to route requests and responses through a proxy, configure the proxy settings on the CommServe client computer.


To configure the proxy settings on the production CommServe client computer, do the following:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers, right-click the CommServe_client_name and select Properties.
  2. In the Client Computer Properties dialog box, click Advanced.
  3. On the Firewall Configuration tab, select the Configure Firewall Settings check box.
  4. On the Incoming Connections tab, click Add.
  5. From the From list, select the SnapProtect_proxy_name.
  6. From the State list, select Blocked, and click OK.

    Similarly, add the Client_computer_group_name and set the State to Restricted.

  7. On the Outgoing Routes tab, click Add.
  8. From the Remote Group/Client list, select the Client_computer_group_name.
  9. Click Via Proxy.
  10. Under Proxy Settings group, from the Remote Proxy list, select the SnapProtect_proxy_name.
  11. On the Options tab, select Roaming Client, and click OK.
  12. Click OK to close the Client Computer Properties dialog box.
