Adding a Repository to Download Center

A repository is a Web Server or network share that will host the files in the Download Center. You can add as many repositories as you require.

Before You Begin

About This Procedure

When you open Download Center for the first time, a page containing setup instructions appears. Follow these instructions before adding additional repositories or packages to the Download Center. See Deploying Download Center.

After completing initial configurations for Download Center, you can use the following procedure to add additional repositories.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Web Console. See Accessing the Web Console.
  2. Click Download Center.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Configure Download Center button ().
  4. Click the Type of Repository list and select a Web Server or network share.
  5. Enter the repository information.

    For a Web Server repository, the NetworkServices account must have full permissions for the specified folder.

    For a network repository, the username that you enter must have full permissions to access the share.

  6. Click Validate to verify the repository information, and then click Save.

    The repository appears at the bottom of the page in the Download Repository list.

Editing or Deleting Download Center Repositories

You can view, edit, and delete existing repositories in the Download Center.

Before You Begin

Steps

Deleting or editing a repository will remove any associated packages and metadata from the Download Center. However, deleting a repository does not delete the original package data located on the Web Server or network share.

  1. Log in to the Web Console. See Accessing the Web Console.
  2. Click Download Center.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Configure Download Center button ().
  4. In the Download Repository list, under the Action column, proceed as follows:
    • To edit a repository click Edit, make changes to the repository details, and then click Save.
    • To delete a repository click Delete, and then click OK to confirm.

Adding a Package to Download Center

Download Center administrators can upload packages to the Download Center.

After completing initial configurations for Download Center, you can use the following procedure to add additional repositories.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Web Console. See Accessing the Web Console.
  2. Click Download Center.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Add Information About Your Packages button ().
  4. On the Download Information page, label, classify, and set permissions for downloading the package. See Package Information Page.
  5. To make a package visible to all Download Center users, create a CommCell group named Everyone (see User Administration and Security - Getting Started), and then add the Everyone group to the Visible To list.
  6. When you are finished, click Apply.

Post-requisites

  • If you do not see your package in the Download Center list, click the refresh button () in the upper-right corner of the page and check again.

Editing Package Information

Administrators can edit information for an existing package from the Download Center page.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the appropriate CommCell capabilities to perform the operation. See User Access Levels for Download Center.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Web Console. See Accessing the Web Console.
  2. Click Download Center.
  3. For the package that you want to edit, to the right of Download, click the edit button ().
  4. On the Package Information page, make your changes. See Package Information Page.
  5. When you are finished, click Apply.

Refreshing Download Center Repositories

If the information in the Download Center list does not appear to be current, administrators can refresh the list of packages in the Download Center repositories.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the appropriate CommCell capabilities to perform the operation. See User Access Levels for Download Center.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Web Console. See Accessing the Web Console.
  2. Click Download Center.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the page, click the Refresh Download Repository button ().

    The Download Center list is updated with the latest package information.

Deleting a Package from Download Center

Administrators can mark a package as deleted in Download Center. Packages marked deleted are visible to the administrator, but are no longer visible to end-users. Deleted packages are marked deleted in the Download Center list.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the appropriate CommCell capabilities to perform the operation. See User Access Levels for Download Center.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Web Console. See Accessing the Web Console.
  2. Click Download Center.
  3. For the package that you want to delete, to the right of Download, click the delete button (X).
  4. In the confirmation box that appears, click OK.

    A Deleted label appears under the package icon in the Download Center list. You can still view and download the package, but end-users will not be able to view it.
