Prefetch

Click this button to perform a Prefetch operation for the media selected in the list.

Note that this operation is used for IP libraries. When you need to run a restore job and if the tape has been migrated, this prefetch operation allows the restore of the tape from physical to virtual, by reading a table of contents instead of the entire tape. This process reduces the frequency of transfer and thus shorten the waiting time.
