Configuring External Data Sources

Table of Contents

Overview

You can configure several types of remote databases as data sources for all reports or for only one report using the Web Console.

You can also configure remote CommCell computers as data sources using the Web Console if the Private Metrics Reporting Server can connect to the remote CommCell computer. If the Private Metrics Reporting Server cannot connect to the CommCell computer, then you must establish a connection using the CommCell Console. For instructions, see Adding Remote CommServe Computers as Data Sources.

The CommServe computer that hosts the Web Console is automatically available as a data source. You cannot delete or edit the host CommServe computer from the list of data sources. All other data sources must be added manually using Web Console.
