Using an Internet Gateway Computer for Metrics Reporting

If the v10 CommCell Console host for Private Metrics Reporting Server is not connected to the Internet, then you can use another client that is connected to the Internet as a gateway to download scripts and upload data. If you want to use a gateway, then you must specify which computer to use as a gateway in the v10 CommCell Console host.

Private Metrics Reporting

Before You Begin

  • The Internet gateway computer must be installed with the same Service Pack, or later, as the CommServe computer.
  • The gateway computer must be installed with either v10 Service Pack 3 or later or v9 Service Pack 9B or later.

Procedure

  1. On the CommCell Console ribbon, click the Control Panel button.
  2.  Under Monitoring, click E-mail & Web Server Configuration.
  3. Click the Internet Gateway tab.
  4. From the Internet Gateway for Download and Upload list,  select the name of the computer that you want to use as a gateway.
  5. Select Use Internet Gateway for Metrics Reporting, and then click OK.

Cloud Metrics Reporting

If the v10 CommCell Console is not connected to the Internet, then you must use another client computer that is connected to the Internet as a gateway to download scripts and upload data. If you want to use a gateway, then you must specify which computer to use as a gateway in the v10 CommCell Console.

Before You Begin

  • To download and upload data, the gateway computer must be able to connect to the following Web site: https://edc.commvault.com/downloads/SQLScripts/.
  • The Internet gateway computer must be installed with the same Service Pack, or later, as the CommServe computer.
  • The gateway computer must be installed with either v10 Service Pack 3 or later or v9 Service Pack 9B or later.
  • If you have a firewall, then use port 443.

Procedure

  1. On the CommCell Console ribbon, click the Control Panel button.
  2.  Under Monitoring, click E-mail & Web Server Configuration.
  3. Click the Internet Gateway tab.
  4. From the Internet Gateway for Download and Upload list,  select the name of the computer that you want to use as a gateway.
  5. Select Use Internet Gateway for Diagnostics and Usage, and then click OK.
