Instsvc is a utility to uninstall, start, and stop Windows services on a local computer. This tool works with Windows services and, therefore, all current versions of SnapProtect. This utility does not update the dependencies or restart actions. Use the Properties item from the Windows services tool to perform these actions.


This is a command line tool. Any argument that contains spaces must be quoted. Use it to perform one of the following options:

  • To Delete a Service:

    instsvc -delete service name

  • To Start a Service:

    instsvc -start service name

  • To Stop a Service:

    instsvc -stop service name
