Use this dialog box to schedule jobs.
Displays the name of the schedule. If creating a new schedule, use this space to enter the name of the schedule.
Select this option to run a job a single time. Select the date and time you want the job to begin.
Select this option to run a job on a daily basis. Choose the start time and the interval, in days, at which you want the job to repeat.
Select this option to run a job on a weekly basis. You can run the job every n number of weeks on the selected days of the week.
Select this option to run a job on a monthly basis. You can run the job every n number of months on the selected date or day. You can also select the standard calendar or a custom calendar (if available). Monthly schedules using custom calendars will run according to the definitions of a month as defined in the calendar.
Select this option to run a job on a yearly basis. You can run the job annually on the selected date or day.
The Monthly and Yearly selections allow you to schedule other calendar events that are commonly of interest. For example, you can schedule backups on the last weekday every three months for quarterly backups. Optionally, you can select the Every n Month(s) option, which allows you to customize intervals at which the job will run. You can also select the standard calendar or a custom calendar (if available). Yearly schedules using custom calendars will run according to the definitions of a year as defined in the calendar.
Select this option to run a job on a specified frequency. When selecting this option, the following criteria will become available: Job Interval, Network Management, Power Management, Resource Utilization, and File Management.
This type of schedule is only applicable for laptop clients. See Edge Endpoint Solutions Overview for more information.
Click to define weekday occurrences or days of the month which you want to exclude from the schedule.
Allows you to specify time intervals for CommCell jobs.
- Minimum Interval between Jobs
Specify the number of hours to start a backup job if the below criteria (Network Management, Power Management and Resource Utilization) is/are satisfied.
- Maximum Interval between Jobs
Specify the number of hours since the last successful job completed to start a job even if the below criteria (Network Management, Power Management and Resource Utilization) is/are not satisfied.
Ignore operation window at Maximum interval
When the Operation Window rules are configured for a specific time period, all operations in the CommCell Console will be disabled during that specific time period. Select the Ignore operation window at Maximum interval check box to ignore the Operation Window rules for the time period specified in the Maximum Interval between jobs box and continue the backups on your laptop client.
Allows you to specify the available network types.
- Use only wired network
Select to start the job when the network connectivity is wired.
- Minimum Network Bandwidth n Kbps
Select to specify the minimum number of kbps that the job should use for the network bandwidth. By default the minimum bandwidth is 128.
- Throttle at n % until bandwidth n Kbps
Select to specify the percentage of throttle that the job should use until the bandwidth reaches an specific kbps value. By default the job throttles at 40% until the bandwidth is 2048.
- Use only specific network
Select to start a job using a specific network. Specify network details and add the network address.
Allows you to specify power management options for the computer.
- Start only if the computer is running on A/C power
Select this option to run the job only when the computer is on A/C power.
- Stop the task if battery mode begins
Select this option to stop the job if the computer is on battery mode.
- Prevent computer from going to sleep if any jobs are running
Select this option to ensure that the computer does not enter sleep mode when CommCell jobs are running.
Allows you to setup the job schedule with specific resource utilization.
- Start only if CPU utilization is below n %
Select this option to run the job when CPU utilization is below the specified percentage.
Allows you to setup the job schedule based on the current condition of the files.
- Start job only if there are files to be backed up
Select this option to run the job if there are new files or if the files have been modified.
Emergency Backup Management
Allows you to define an emergency script which will run when no backups are performed for period of time.
- Run the following script if there was no backup for n Hours
Select this option specify the maximum amount of hours allowed without backup operations.
- Base/ <script location> .bat or .sh
Specify the script that must be executed when no backups are performed for the specified time interval.

Range of recurrence
- Start Date
Enter the date on which you want this schedule to take effect. Choose one of the following options to set an end boundary for the schedule:
To keep this schedule valid indefinitely (default).
To set the last date and time on which this schedule will be effective.
To maintain the schedule until a specified number of jobs has run.
Allows you to run the job repeatedly on the time of day on which the job is scheduled to run.
- Every (Day, Week, Month)
Select the value for which you want to run the job repeatedly.
Launches the Exceptions dialog box.
- Repeat Every (Hours, Minutes)
Select the value for which you want to run the job repeatedly on the day in which the job is scheduled to run.
Allows you to schedule a job by selecting a time zone. Select a time zone from the drop-down list.
Use this dialog box to view the defined holidays on which the scheduled jobs will not be run.
The start date from which no scheduled tasks will be run.
The end date for the holiday. After this date, the schedule can run. If Annually is displayed next to the dates in the Start Date and End Date fields, no scheduled tasks will be run each year between these dates and times.
The name assigned to the holiday by the user.
Click this button to access the Add Holiday dialog box, which allows you to add a holiday on which scheduled jobs will not run.
Click this button to edit the holiday from the Add Holiday dialog box.
Click this button to delete a holiday.
Use this dialog box to define the date and time on which no scheduled tasks will run.
When selected, the schedules will run each year on the date and times you select from the Start Date and End Date fields. Annual holidays never expire and supersedes any holiday that is already set for the same day.
From the scroll list, select the start date and time for the holiday.
From the scroll list, select the end date and time for the holiday.
Use this field to describe the holiday.
Use this dialog box to create an exception to a weekly schedule.
Allows you to choose a particular weekday for which to exclude the schedule.
Allows you modify the existing exceptions to the schedules.
Allows you delete existing exceptions to the schedules.
Use this dialog box to add exceptions based on weekday occurrences or days of the month.
Allows you to choose a particular day of the week for which to exclude the schedule.
Select the first, second, third, fourth, or last weekday of the month to exclude this schedule. The operation will not run on the day selected.
Use this dialog box to create a backup schedule or to associate a schedule policy to a subclient or backup set.
Associate to schedule policy
If selected, allows you to select a specific schedule policy for this backup set or subclient.
If selected, allows you to create a schedule for this backup set or subclient.
Do Not Schedule
If selected, a schedule will not be created for this backup set or subclient, unless a schedule policy is already associated.
