Space Check - Context Sensitive Help

The following sections provide context-sensitive help information related to this feature.

System (General)

Use this dialog box to modify the maximum number of events to be retained in the event log, and the interval in which the database size is checked.

Threshold Values

  • Maximum number of Events retained in Event Log

The maximum number of events that are retained in the software database. The database is checked every time you open the Event Viewer. If the number of events exceeds the maximum, the oldest events are pruned.

  • Database space check interval

The frequency (in hours and minutes) with which the software checks the size of the CommServe database. When the CommServe database approaches a low percentage of capacity, a warning message appears in the Event Viewer and an alert (if configured) is sent to the user.

  • Allow GUI connections to timeout

Enable the option for the CommCell Console to become disconnected when inactive for a certain period of time.

  • GUI Timeout in minutes

Select the number of minutes the CommCell Console can remain idle before it is disconnected by the system.

Database Space Check Thresholds (Percentage Free)

  • Information

Defines the database free-space threshold at which a warning message with an Information severity level is sent to the Event Viewer.

  • Minor

Defines the database free-space threshold at which a warning message with a Minor severity level is sent to the Event Viewer.

  • Major

Defines the database free-space threshold at which a warning message with a Major severity level is sent to the Event Viewer.

  • Critical

Defines the database free-space threshold at which a warning message with a Critical severity level is sent to the Event Viewer. You can configure an alert for low disk space to generate when the threshold level falls below the critical severity level.
