Subclient Policy - Best Practices
Create a Subclient Policy for Clients with Minor Variances
If a minor variance exists among several clients that require a data management task, create a subclient policy for them to configure all of the common properties of the task for all clients at once. Then, disassociate the clients from the policy. Since disassociated clients retain the properties of the subclient policy, all you have to do is adjust each client individually to account for their slight differences.
We recommend that you do not re-configure the content of a default subclient because this would disable its capability to serve as a catch-all entity for client data. As a result, some data will not get backed up or scanned.
