Recover Options for All Selected Items (General)

Use this dialog box to control how the specified data is to be recovered for the Exchange Compliance Archiver Agent. This dialog box is also used for selecting options related to scheduled or non-scheduled search and recovery operations.

All the options described in this help might not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the component installed on the client.

Remove journal report if it exists on restore

When this check box is selected, only the actual message is restored. The journal report is removed.

Destination client

Specifies to which client the data is recovered. The destination client can be changed only when To PST File is selected.

To Mailbox

Specifies that the data is recovered to a mailbox.

  • Target Mailbox

    The mailbox to which the data will be recovered.

  • Recover to Same Paths

    When this check box is selected, data is recovered to the same path from which it was archived.

  • Specify destination path

    If you want to recover data to a different path from which it was archived, enter the path on the destination computer to which the data will be recovered. If the specified path does not exist, it will be created during the recovery process.

    This field is available when the Recover to Same Paths check box is cleared.

  • When message exists
    • Unconditional Overwrite

      Specifies whether the recovered data is written unconditionally to the specified location.

      If  this option is cleared:

      • Files/directories whose names are the same as those in the recovery path and whose archived data is as old or older are not recovered.
      • Files/directories whose names are the same as those in the recovery path and whose archived data is newer are recovered.
      • Files/directories whose names are different from those in the recovery path are recovered.
    • Append

      Specifies that all of the items that are selected for recovery are added to the folder regardless of whether they exist or not. The Append option is selected by default.

    • Skip

      Specifies that if an item is selected for recovery and that item already exists, it will not be recovered.

To PST File

Specifies that the data is recovered to a PST file.

Enter the file path and file name of the PST file to which the messages will be recovered. If the specified path does not exist, it will be created during the recover process.

Advanced

Opens the Advanced Recover Options dialog box.

Save As Script

Opens the Save As Script dialog box. You can save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can run later from the Command Line Interface using the qoperation execute command.

When you save an operation as a script, each option in the dialog box has a corresponding XML parameter in the script file. Before you run the script, you can modify the value for any of these XML parameters.
