Restore Options (Clone Options)
Use this tab to define the options to create a clone environment.
Displays the options for creating a clone environment.
Specifies the name (Oracle SID) of the clone instance.
An existing instance name may be used, but make sure it is not an actual database on the destination client.
- When you create/clone a new instance, enter or click Browse to specify the path to the application's Home directory.
- For an existing instance, the path to the application's Home directory is displayed.
Displays the user name to access the Oracle application on the client from the CommCell Console.
The following table describes the user privileges required by the Oracle iDataAgent:
|Operating System||The User Account Should Be:|
|Unix||On Unix operating systems, specifies the Oracle User account under which the Oracle backups will be conducted.|
Specifies the location of the startup Parameter file, for example, /oracle/clone/initdup1.ora. Alternatively, you can click Browse to locate the PFile.
- If the specified PFile does not exist, the system will create the file and will set all parameters needed. Ensure the Oracle user has write permissions for the directory where the PFile resides.
- If the specified PFile exists, the file should have read permissions for the Oracle user and contain all initialization parameters required by the Oracle database version used. In addition, ensure the dump and control file directories exist and have write permissions for the Oracle user.
Snap Mount Location
Specifies the mount path location for example, /oracle/clone. This mount path will contain mounted snapshots from the Oracle database.
The Oracle user should have write permissions to this directory. Also, if you chose to let the system create the PFile, then the control file, archivelog, and all dump directories will be created under this directory. Enough disk space should be available to hold the logs until the reservation period expires.
Specifies the Reservation Period for which you would like to retain the test environment.
By default the clone environment will be retained for one hour. Once the specified reservation period expires, the database will be shutdown and the mount points will be deleted.
If selected, any existing clone using the same clone SID name is cleaned up even if the reservation period has not expired.
Online Log Files
Specifies the number of online redo log groups and locations of the redo log files. By default, online redo logs will be in the snap mount location.
Specifies a group containing the online redo log members. Selecting this option will allow you to Add specifications for an online redo log group, Edit an existing entry or Delete it by clicking the respective button.
