Adding On-Demand Instances for Oracle

Create an On-Demand instance to perform ad-hoc Oracle database backups, which are "as needed" backups and restores. Use customized RMAN scripts to run backups and restores for On-Demand instances.

When you create an On-Demand instance, a default subclient is automatically created for that instance.

Note: Once you create an On-Demand instance, you cannot change it to a traditional instance.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client.
  2. Right-click Oracle, point to All Tasks and then click New On Demand Instance.
  3. Click Yes to confirm the creation of an On-Demand instance.
