Enter the Naming Pattern for VMs

VM Naming Pattern

Allows you to specify a naming pattern for all virtual machines created with this VM Lifecycle policy. You can use the asterisk (*) to require at least one additional character in each virtual machine name.

For example, the default value, VM*Eng, requires each virtual machine name to contain at least one additional character following the text, VM, and before the text, Eng. Therefore, users could give names to their virtual machines such as VMBobEng or VMJane1Eng. However, you could also use the asterisk at the end of a character string so that all virtual machine names begin with the same string of characters. For example if you enter SalesEast*, all virtual machines created with this policy will begin with the text, SalesEast, such as SalesEastBob.
