Firewall Configuration During Installation: Setting Up Direct Connections from the CommServe Computer to the Client

If you plan to configure a firewall environment where the CommServe computer initiates communications with the client, you can configure the client with the necessary firewall settings during the installation of the SnapProtect software.

This type of configuration is also called one-way firewall, where the CommServe computer opens a tunnel connection towards the client.

Before You Begin

If you plan to perform remote installations using the CommCell Console, you must open some network ports. For more information, see Review Firewall and Network Port Requirements.

Procedure

Follow the firewall configuration steps that correspond to your installation method.
