Installation Support

Refer to the following sections to verify the support information for each installation method and configuration.

Installation Methods

The following table indicates the SnapProtect software that you can install with each installation method:

Installations Using the CommCell Console

(Remote Installations)

You can install most SnapProtect packages, except for the following packages:
  • CommServe
  • 1-Touch Server
  • CommServe SNMP Enabler
  • Metrics Reporting Server
  • Web Server
  • Workflow Engine

Note: ContinousDataReplicator installations are not supported on SuSE 10.x.

Installations Using the Installation Package
  • Local Installations

    All SnapProtect packages are supported.

  • Custom Package

    All SnapProtect packages are supported.

  • Unattended Installations

    All SnapProtect packages are supported, except for the CommServe.

Installations Using the Download Manager You can only install Windows-based SnapProtect packages or create custom packages for Windows computers.

Installing agents in restore-only mode

Supported by most agents, except for the following packages:
  • Active Directory
  • ContinuousDataReplicator
  • Documentum
  • Macintosh and OES
  • Sybase
  • Virtual Server Agent for Citrix Xen
IBM Notes Database and IBM Notes Document can be installed as restore-only agents only on Windows computers.
Installing SnapProtect in decoupled mode Supported by most SnapProtect packages, except for the following packages:
  • Active Directory
  • ContinuousDataReplicator
  • Macintosh and OES
  • SAP Hana
  • SharePoint Server Agent
  • Virtual Server Agent for Citrix Xen
Oracle supports decoupled installations only on UNIX computers.
