Creating Search Views in Data Cube

After you have connected to a data source and crawled the data, the system will create a default view of the data. The default search view contains all of the structure of the original data source. If you want to focus on specific parts of your data, you can create a search view to customize how the data is structured. You can create multiple search views of the same data without affecting the data source.

Before You Begin

  1. In a Web browser, log in to the Web Console and then click Analytics.
  2. Click the connector heading of the type of data sources you want to view.
  3. On the Data Sources (connector) page in the lower-right corner of the data source name box, click Search.
  4. A list of the search views appears.
  5. In the upper-right corner of the Search Views section, click Create New View.
  6. In the Create New View dialog:
    • In View Name, enter a name for the new search view.
    • Click the Select a Handler list and select the handler name that you want to use to create the search view.

Note: To view the entire data source in the search view, select the default handler.

  7. Click Save.

    The new search view appears.

Note: You can delete a search view from the Search Views page. Deleting a search view is a permanent operation.

What to Do Next

After you create a search view, you can customize the way the data is structured in the search view. See Restructuring Data Connections with Search Views.
