Quick Verification of Deduplication Database Results in the DDBMountpathInfo.log

The DDBMountpathInfo.log on the MediaAgents has the Dormant blocks which are the idle blocks available on the disk. Out of all the Dormant blocks the ones that can be reclaimed are the Reclaimable blocks. All Dormant blocks cannot be reclaimed as it may result in very high I/O on the disk.

The Dormant Percentage is calculated by using the following calculation:

(Number of Dormant blocks/ (Valid+Dormant Blocks)) * 100.

Example: The following example from the DDBMountpathInfo.log displays the following:

  • Mount path on which the job was run.
  • The Fragmentation threshold that was set.
  • Total number of chunks and corresponding percentage of fragmented chunks.
  • Total number of Sfile containers and the corresponding percentages of Sfile containers.
  • Total block counts and the corresponding percentages of reclaimable block counts.
  • Total block size in bytes and the corresponding percentages of reclaimable block size in bytes.
