Managing Clients in an Existing Firewall Topology

When you configure a firewall topology, you set up connections between client groups.

You can add or remove clients from a client group that was defined in a firewall topology.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computer Groups, right-click the client_group, and then click Properties.
  2. In the properties dialog box, add or remove clients from the client group, and then click OK.
    • To add clients, select the clients from the All clients list, click Include >.
    • To remove clients, select the clients from the Clients in this group list, click < Exclude.
  3. Push the firewall configuration in the following order:
    • On the client that you added or removed from the client group.

      Notes:

      • If you added or removed multiple clients from the client group, push the firewall configuration on the client group.
      • If you have a firewall topology for proxy connections, you must also push the firewall configuration on the SnapProtect proxy.
    • On the MediaAgent (if any).
    • On the CommServe computer.

For example, to push the firewall configuration on the CommServe computer:

    1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe, and then click All Tasks > Push Firewall Configuration.
    2. When the Warning dialog box appears, click Continue.

A notification appears indicating that the push firewall operation was successful. Click OK to close the notification.
