The Calendar Backup Job Summary Report displays information about the backups on each selected client for each date in the specified time range. You can find information on incremental storage policies only in the detailed report views described on the Data Views page. The Calendar Backup Job Summary Report does not include information about incremental storage policies.
|Client||Name of the client computer.|
|Agent/Instance||Agent type and instance name on which backup jobs ran.|
|Backup Set/Subclient||Name of the backup set and subclient on which backup jobs ran.|
|Storage Policy||Name of the storage policy assigned to the subclient on which backup jobs ran.|
|Storage Policy Copy||Name of the storage policy copy assigned to the subclient on which backup jobs ran.|
|Library||Name of the library on which the backup data is stored.|
|Date||Date range that was entered in the report settings.|
|Total Completed||Number of completed backup jobs.|
|Total Completed with Errors||Number of backup jobs that completed with one or more errors.|
|Total Failed||Number of backup jobs that failed to complete.|
|Total Killed||Number of backup jobs that were killed.|
|Total Active||Number of backup jobs that were active at the time the report ran.|
To display the calendar view of the Backup Job Summary Report, on the General tab, select Calendar.
When you configure the Jobs with Description option, only jobs that contain the specified description appear in the report. The Job Description section displays the description that the initiating user entered for the job.
To display only jobs that contain a particular description, on the General tab, select Jobs with Description, and then enter a description in the box.
This section displays a list of files and/or folders that the initiating user excluded from the backup job.
To list the files and/or folders that were excluded from each job, on the Selection tab, click Subclient Content and Filters.
This section displays a list of objects that failed to back up. Files backed up with the Exchange Database agent are not included in this list.
To list the objects that failed to back up for each job, on the Selection tab, click Failed Objects.
This section displays a list of protected objects that were included in the backup job. The amount of objects that appears in the list is limited to the number that you specify. The maximum number of protected objects that can appear in the report is 10,000. If you need to view more than 10,000 objects that are protected by a File System agent, then use the File Level Analytics Report. To include the database name and size for SQL and Sybase agents in the Backup Job Summary Report, see Include the Database Name and Size for SQL and Sybase Agents.
If you do not want to include a list of protected objects, then clear this check box.
Items that are protected by Virtual Server agents do not appear in this list.
To display a list of protected objects for each backup, on the Selection tab, click Protected Objects, and then enter a number to limit the number of protected objects that appear for each subclient.
This column displays the name of the media library that is associated with the backup job.
To display the Associated Media column, on the Selection tab, click Associated Media.
This column displays the MediaAgent that is associated with the client on which the job ran.
To display the MediaAgents column, on the Selection tab, click MediaAgents.
This column displays the type of drive on which the job was stored.
To display the Drive column, on the Selection tab, click Drive.
This column displays the storage policy that is assigned to the client where the backup job ran.
To display the Storage Policy column, on the Selection tab, click Storage Policy.
Jobs that contain aged data are highlighted brown in the report output.
To include jobs that contain aged data, on the Selection tab, click Aged Data.
This flag appears in the Job Id column of all jobs that contain media deleted jobs.
To flag all media deleted jobs, on the Selection tab, click Include Media Deleted Jobs.
This section displays the backup copy/catalog snapshots status for each applicable job. For information about setting this option, see Settings - Selection - Include Backup Copy/Catalog Snapshot Jobs.

Displays the most frequent errors that caused backup job failures and the number of errors that occurred.
|Error Code||The code assigned to the error.|
|Description||Description of the type of error.|
|Number of Affected Jobs||The number of jobs that contain the error.|
To display the Top Failure Reasons table, on the Options tab, click Show Most Frequent Errors, and then enter the number of most frequent errors that you want to list in the report. For example, if you want to see the top 5 most frequent errors, enter 5.
This column displays the retention settings for each job. For information about setting this option, see Settings - Options - Jobs Retained By.
To display the Retained By column, on the Options tab, click one of the following:
This displays jobs that follow all types of retention rules.
- Basic Retention
This displays only jobs that follow basic retention rules.
- Extended Retention
This displays only jobs that follow extended retention rules.
Displays each Personal Storage Table (.pst) file that was archived in the backup job.
|Name||Name of the PST file that was archived.|
|Owner||User name that is specified as the owner of the file.|
|Status||Status of the job, such as Success or Failed.|
|Client||Name of the client computer where the backup job ran.|
|Path||The location of the PST file that was archived.|
|Reason||If applicable, the reason that the file was archived.|
|Total Messages||Total number of messages that are included in the PST file.|
|Successful Messages||Number of messages that were successfully archived.|
|Failed Messages||Number of messages that failed to archive.|
|Size||Size of the PST file.|
|Subclient||Name of the subclient where the backup job ran.|
|Backup Set||Name of the backup set where the backup job ran.|
|Type of Owner||Permission assigned to the user.|
To display the Archived PST Files table, on the Selection tab, select Include Archived PSTs.
Information on protected databases appears both in the Job Attempts section of each backup job entry, in the Details table and in the Protected Databases table. Information for Exchange 2007 databases is not included.
Data in the backup job entry includes the number of databases included in the backup, the duration of the job, data size, throughput, MediaAgent used, and more.
The Protected Databases Table displays information about each backup job for each Exchange database during the specified time period.
|Exchange Server||Name of the Exchange server where the protected database is located.|
|Database Name||Name of the database.|
|Application Size||Size of the backed up data.|
|Start Time||Start time of the backup job.|
|End Time||End time of the backup job.|
|Status||Status of the backup job, such as Success or Failed.|
|Reason||Explanation of the status, such as reason for backup job failure, or reason for Waiting status.|
To display the Protected Databases table, on the Selection tab, select Protected Databases.
