Importing the Metadata from the Cloud into the Global Repository Cell

In the Global Repository Cell, you can configure the destination client groups to import the client metadata, and specify a schedule to import the client metadata from the cloud library.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CommCell Console of the Global Repository Cell.
  2. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe node, point to All Tasks, and then click CommCell Registration.

    The CommCell Registration dialog box appears.

  3. Right-click the PodCell, and then click Import From Cloud.

    The Import From Cloud Wizard appears.

  4. Enter the cloud storage information that is configured in the PodCell.
  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Specify Destination Client Group page, choose whether to associate the imported clients with a client group.

    If you select the Use the following client group option, then a new client group is created for the imported clients in the Global Repository Cell. Select the client group name from the Client group list. You can edit the new client group name.

  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Prefixes For Imported Entities page, select one of the following options:
    • Do not prefix imported entities: Select this option if you do not want to add a prefix to the names of imported entities.

      To add a suffix to the name of any imported entity that has the same name as an entity in the PodCell, enter the suffix to add in the Use following suffix if local entity of same name already exists.

    • Always add the following prefix to imported entities: Select this option add a prefix to the names of all the imported entities. Type the prefix in the Prefix box.

      Note: You can add a prefix to the names of storage policies, copies, libraries, and devices, but not to the names of clients.

  9. Click Next.
  10. On the MediaAgent/ Library Information page, select the MediaAgent that you want to use to restore the index.
  11. Click Next.
  12. On the Configure Schedule Pattern page, specify the schedule pattern for importing the metadata. For more information, see Scheduling - Online Help.
  13. Click Finish.
