Reconciling the Snapshots of a Storage Array Using Array Management
About This Task
Snapshots might be deleted from an array for reasons such as the array has low disk space, or the number of snapshots exceeds the threshold. When a snapshot is deleted, you cannot use the job that created that snapshot for data recovery or backup copy operations.
The reconciliation operation marks jobs with deleted snapshots as invalid.
You can reconcile snapshots in the following ways:
- Check for missing snapshots every 24 hours by setting the nRunSnapRecon additional setting to 1. The nRunSnapRecon additional setting marks jobs for the missing snapshots as invalid. The nRunSnapRecon reconciles all snaps of all arrays on the CommCell. To add the nRunSnapRecon additional setting, see Add or Modify an Additional Setting.
- Check for missing snapshots on-demand by clicking Reconcile Snaps in Array Management. Reconcile Snaps reconciles snapshots for individual arrays. To use Reconcile Snaps, complete the steps in the following procedure.
- On the ribbon in the CommCell Console, click the Storage tab, and then click Array Management.
- In the Array Management dialog box, select an array.
- Click Reconcile Snaps.
A message box displays the job identifier number.
- Click OK.
