Monitoring Policy Templates for System Monitoring

A monitoring policy template defines the structure of the data you want to monitor. During the creation of a monitoring policy, you define the type of data you want to monitor by selecting a template.

The template properties, which include parsing criteria, are used by monitoring policies to track specific chunks of data.

Predefined Templates

The following table lists the templates that are available when you create system monitoring policies:

Template Description Supported Clients
Activity Monitoring Tracks user activity on a client:
  • Log on/Log off
  • Read, write, and execute activities

Disk IO Statistics Tracks logical disk statistics:
  • Disk read/write throughputs
  • Total and free space
  • Read/Write wait queue
HBA Statistics Tracks fiber-channel adapter statistics:
  • Port index
