Adding a Chart or Table to a System Monitoring Dashboard

You can add charts and tables to the Default dashboard or to your own dashboard. Charts and tables are widgets generated with the results obtained from a search.

You can add a chart of table to a dashboard by using one of the following methods:

  • Perform a search operation and save the search

    You can perform a search to capture the information that you want to display as a chart or table on the dashboard. Use this approach if you do not have a saved search for the information you want to display as a chart or table on the dashboard.

  • Use a saved search

    You can add the saved search to a dashboard. Note that you cannot associate a saved search to more than one dashboard.


  1. From the My Applications page in the Web Console, go to Monitoring > System Monitoring.
  2. To add a chart or table to a dashboard, choose one of the following methods:
  3. If you created a new search, click the star button to save it.
  4. On the Search page, at the upper right of the page, click Actions > Save to Dashboard.
  5. In the Save to Dashboard dialog box, specify the dashboard details:
    1. Select the Save to Dashboard check box and choose how you want to present the search results on the dashboard.

      You can display the information as a chart (Graph option) or as a table.

    2. In the Application list, to categorize your dashboard, click Activity Monitoring or Resource Monitoring.

      Your dashboard will appear under the Dashboards tab in the subcategory you select.

    3. In the Dashboard box, choose the dashboard where you want to display the chart or table.
    4. To enable client filters for your dashboard, select the Include Client Navigation check box.
    5. Click Save.
