Enabling System Monitoring

To enable System Monitoring you must do the following:

  • Add an additional setting to the CommServe so that System Monitoring templates are available in the New Monitoring Policy wizard.
  • Add an additional setting to each client you want to monitor.

Procedure

On the CommServe

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click CommServe and then click Properties.
  2. In the CommCell Properties dialog box, click the Additional Settings tab and then click Add.
  3. In the Add Additional Settings dialog box, enter the details for the bEnableSystemMonitoring additional setting:
    Additional Setting Category Type Value
    bEnableSystemMonitoring CommServDB.Console BOOLEAN true

  4. Click OK.

On the Clients

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click client and then click Properties.
  2. In the Client Computer Properties dialog box, click Advanced.
  3. In the Advanced Client Properties dialog box, click the Additional Settings tab and then click Add.
  4. In the Add Additional Settings dialog box, enter the details for the EnableSystemMonitoring additional setting:
    Additional Setting Category Type Value
    EnableSystemMonitoring EventManger INTEGER 1

  5. Click OK.
