Configuration - Informix iDataAgent

Informix Configuration

Before you perform backup and restore operations, you must modify the following parameters in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/onconfig.<servername> file.

Parameter Definition
BAR_MAX_BACKUP This parameters defines the number of streams that the SnapProtect software uses for backup and restore operations. The default is 0.
TAPEDEV, LTAPEDEV The TAPEDEV parameter defines the device used for dbspace backups, and the LTAPEDEV parameter defines the tape device log file backups. By default these are both set to the following values that dismiss the logs:

Change the value of each parameter to a non-existing directory that has full access to perform log backups for an Informix user.

UNIX Example

TAPEDEV /dev/tmp0
LTAPEDEV /dev/tmp1

Windows Example

LTAPEDEV C:\Program Files\IBM\Informix\tape1

BAR_BSALIB_PATH This parameter to define the location of the shared library for ON-Bar and the CommVault storage manager.

You must specify this parameter in a Windows configuration. This parameter is updated when you create an instance in the CommCell Console.

In a UNIX configuration, ON-Bar looks for the symbolic link in the $INFORMIX/lib path when you do not specify this parameter.

Note: If you use INFORMIX version 12.10 and you do not specify the BAR_BSALIB_PATH parameter, the backups are not available for the SnapProtect software to restore.
