Disabling the Oracle Switch Datafile Command
By default, during a redirected restore, the SnapProtect software issues the Oracle switch datafiles command.
You must disable the Oracle switch datafile command:
- When you perform an out-of-place (redirected) restore
- When you do not want to update the control file with the restore
Procedure
- From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.
- Right-click the client, and click Properties.
- On the Properties dialog box, click the Advanced button.
- On the Additional Settings tab of the Advanced Properties dialog box click Add.
- In the Add Additional Setting dialog box:
- In the Name box, type sORADISABLE_SWITCH_DATAFILE.
- In the Category box, type OracleAgent.
- In the Type box, select String.
- In the Value box, enter Y.
- Click OK to close the Add Additional Setting dialog box.
- Click OK to close the Advanced Properties dialog box.
