Install Service Pack and Hotfixes Options (General)

Use this dialog box to install the service pack and hotfixes on one or more client computers in your CommCell environment.

Client Computer Groups

Reboot Client
Select to automatically reboot the client or MediaAgent computer during the service pack installation process. The SnapProtect software determines whether the reboot is required.
If you do not select this option and a driver update is installed, all the required updates will not be installed on the client or MediaAgent computer.
Automatically Uninstall Conflicting Hotfix or Diagnostic Update
If individual updates, such as hotfixes or diagnostic updates, were installed after a service pack, you must select this option to uninstall the individual updates before the new service pack is installed. If the option is not selected, errors might occur during the service pack installation.
Run Database Maintenance if applicable and not run in last 6 months
This option applies to the CommServe computer and clients that have server packages installed, such as the Web Server and Workflow Engine.
When selected, if a database maintenance was not performed in the last six months, the database is checked for inconsistencies and re-indexes large tables that are often accessed or modified. This option is useful if you want to reduce index fragmentation and minimize deadlocks.
Save As Script

Click to open the Save As Script dialog, which allows you to save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can later be executed from the Command Line Interface using qoperation execute command.

When you save an operation as a script, each option in the dialog will have a corresponding XML parameter in the script file. When executing the script, you can modify the value for any of these XML parameters as per need.
